Home Hair Removal
Not everyone is comfortable having others perform their hair removal tasks for them. Home methods are a bit more inviting to these individuals. The fact that doing this type of removal at home is less expensive is an added benefit. There are many devices and systems on the market today that help you to remove hair.
These products can be used by both men and women. In most cases, they are easy to use and effective. Some products when it comes to hair removal are more effective however. These are typically the options that last longer once they are used. The type of removal product that you choose can be based upon price.
Prices vary depending on whether you are purchasing an applicable product or a machine for removal. You may also opt to shop for your home products based upon the hair you want to remove. Looking at the different offerings in this category will help you to decide which is best for you.
Laser and pulsed devices
You can purchase virtually any type of device to remove hair at home. Two of the most popular in this category are laser powered and pulsed devices. Following the instructions for these products will allow you to remove hair from the privacy of your own home. Most are simple to use and can be done on your own. These devices are often considered the more expensive products for removing hair.
Topical creams
Topical creams are popular purchases for removing hair. Depending on the location of the hair and the texture of the hair, application directions may vary. These products are over-the-counter purchases. They are available in most drugstores, supermarkets, and even specialty cosmetics stores. Topical creams range in size and in price. Reading reviews before making a purchase could be helpful.
Waxing products
Salons that provide waxing services are commonly used for removing hair. With the right products, you can wax your hair at home. Beauty supply and cosmetics stores have a selection of waxing products to choose from. These can even be purchased via the internet. Most often these are products that can be better used with the assistance of a friend. There are risks to using hot wax and should done with care.
Many people with light to medium length hair opt to use traditional shavers. Shavers are common products that can be used at home for hair removal . There are shavers that are designed specifically for men and for women. These can be purchased according to size, strength, and cost. Electrical shavers are the most popular in this category. Some products here are also battery operated. Shavers are easily available in a host of different stores and under many name brands.

Booming Plastic Surgery Industry Inspires Report From IBISWorld
Interest in cosmetic surgery continues to climb as technological advancements make procedures more accessible, more affordable and safer. Cosmetic surgery is no longer reserved for the wealthy or famous; most cities in the United States are home to plastic surgery centers, offering body contouring procedures from liposuction and breast augmentation to facial rejuvenation , laser hair removal , eyelid surgery, chin and cheek implants and other innovative enhancements. Additionally, MedChoice Financial , one of the largest and fastest-growing elective medical financing companies nationwide, reports that elective cosmetic surgery financing is more prevalent now, and there are many more flexible patient-client payment programs available. For these reasons, industry research firm IBISWorld has added the Plastic Surgeons industry report to its growing Life Sciences collection.
Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) October 25, 2011
Plastic surgeon practices tend to be very small, but they have been getting larger. According to the latest research from IBISWorld, major players in the plastic surgeons industry include Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery, BioForm Medical Group and Long Island Plastic Surgical Group. The main products offered by these companies, and covered in-depth in IBISWorld's latest report findings, include surgical services, nonsurgical dermal fillers, nonsurgical laser hair removal and nonsurgical skin resurfacing.
There are about 17 million cosmetic surgery procedures performed in the United States – and that number has continued to grow even with the economic recession. "The rise in cosmetic surgeries is largely due to the aging baby boomers and their desire to preserve their youth and health," says IBISWorld lead industry analyst Sophia Snyder. "In addition, there's a greater number of younger women interested in silicone implants since the Food and Drug Administration approved silicone implants for unrestricted use in 2007 after an exhaustive study." Snyder anticipates that as consumers become more educated about the advantages of next-generation silicone implants, plastic surgeons will receive more frequent requests from patients for silicone.

What Is A Great Diet To Lose Weight Fast?
What is the best diet plan to lose weight quickly. Would you suggest taking diet pills with that, if so which ones?
Pureacai.infoI lost 10 lbs in 2 days.
The special K diet! It really works
From my observation, the low/no carb diet is a pretty good way to lose SOME poundage relatively quickly. But remember, the faster the weight comes off, the easier it is to put back on. Also remember that this might leave you low on energy.
Any diet HAS to be accompanied by rigorous exercise. It's never easy, but it's worth it.
Diet pills are always attractive because they make it look so easy, but I recommend doing it the natural way.
Stay away from pills becuase you may lose weight but will just gain it all back when you stop. do it the natural way and it will come off at a pretty quick rate and stay off if you eat right. there is a program that will probably help. I know a few people on it. Iv included the link below under "source" You should check it out.
The best Diet Pill out at the moment is the the clinically proven Appetite Suppressor - Proactol. This also helps to bind up to 30% More Fat through digestion, so you will be eating 30% less fat than usual.
Check out the Proactol website for more information:

How Can I Lose Weight Without Sacrificing Muscle Mass Or Strength?
Im 5ft and 8 in and weight around 145. I want to lose atleast 5-8 lbs of pure body fat. But I've heard that when you lose weight you also lose muscle mass and strength? Is this true? So how can I prevent myself from losing the mass of my muscle and strength while losing the fat.
How to lose 8 pounds of just fat is easy with these 5 or 6 simple steps. Some steps might actually make you stronger;1.Eat when you are hungry: because if you eat when you are full you are just stretching your stomach tissue and if you starve yourself that's when you lose muscle and your body will expect you to keep starving yourself which slows down your metabolism.2.Take your time: when you eat fast you want to eat more because you cant tell when you are full. If you eat slow you will realize you are full when you are full.3.Take walks and drink water: walks are a pretty easy exercise but it is still exercise and drinking water cleanses your body and if you drink a cup of water before every meal you won`t eat as much.4.No artificle stuff: soda is horrible when your on a diet this may sound weird but especially diet soda. Diet stuff is the exact opposite of what it sounds it may have less calories but all the chemicals in it make up for that.(Also an other reason people say you also lose muscle mass and strength.)5.Abs: when you are relaxing like watching TV if you sit it a position like this your abs will burn fat _/. Also slow leg lifts help too.6.Thyroid?:If you do not lose any weight in 5 weeks ask your doctor if you have thyroid.
Eat 7 white eggs everyday.
Buy whey power and make smoothies. It has protein for you , and will help you to lose weight because you will want to eat alot
You can try http://diet.submitfly.com
If you want to just lose body fat, you'll have to exercise enough to keep your current muscles the same. This will probably be a bit more than you usually exercise if you go on a diet.
low-carb diets also help with the body fat losing, but you'll still have to add some exercise to keep from losing your muscles.
I bet a body building magazine would have some tips for this type of thing.
You might not believe this, but if you stick to a healthy dietary habits by eating small meals throughout the day like every 3 hours, protein shakes and copious amounts of water you will lose body fat and maintain size. Things like bread and pasta should be kept to a minimum, they are still needed and are good if you need that extra energy to get through a workout. Just don't over do them!
Losing muscle mass occurs when you are on a 'diet' that denies your body the nutrients needed to sustain strength. Thats a big reason why all those 'miracle' diets don't work.

Weight Loss Surgery Benefits Entire Family
Having gastric bypass surgery has a ripple effect that causes family members to lose weight, eat better and exercise more, a new study shows.
The research found that spouses, relatives and even the children of patients who underwent the procedure dropped significant amounts of weight, doubled their activity levels and had other improvements that were still evident a year after the surgery. The findings suggest that doctors who perform gastric bypass operations may want to look at the procedure as a way to bring about change in entire families in need of help with their weight and exercise habits, said Dr. John Morton, the director of bariatric surgery at the Stanford School of Medicine and an author of the study, which appeared in The Archives of Surgery.
"If you have a committed and involved family," he said, "you're going to have better outcomes for the patient, and also by the same token, the family members can have a collateral benefit."
Every year, about 200,000 people undergo the most common gastric bypass operation, known as Roux-en-Y. Patients typically see significant weight loss and improvements in overall health, but researchers hadn't really looked at whether the changes could affect other members of a patient's household. Dr. Morton got the idea for the new study when he noticed that his bypass patients would often come in for follow-up visits alongside family members who showed improvements of their own.
"Patients would come in with their spouses, and in the course of them telling me how great everything was, the spouse would say, 'I've lost weight too, and we're eating healthier,'" he said.
Social support can be a powerful motivator in breaking bad habits. Studies have shown, for example, that people tend to lose more weight - and keep it off longer - when they take part in weight loss groups or start a diet with a husband or wife . Smokers, too, are nearly 70 percent more likely to give up cigarettes if a spouse quits smoking.
To find out whether gastric bypass could have a similar effect, Dr. Morton and several researchers, including Dr. Gavitt Woodard, recruited 35 people preparing to undergo the procedure and followed them and their families for a year. Only family members who lived with the patients, including their children, were included in the study. Family members were asked to accompany the patients to all of their counseling sessions: three that occurred before the surgery, and five that took place in the year after. At the sessions, the subjects learned about portion control and were encouraged to eat meals high in protein and fiber and low in fat and sugar. They were also encouraged to exercise and cut back on alcohol and television.
A year after the surgery, the patients, who had all been morbidly obese at the start, had lost an average of 100 pounds and went from body mass indexes of 48.7 to 33.3. Their adult spouses and family members who were overweight, meanwhile, had lost an average of about 10 pounds and saw their B.M.I.'s drop from 38 to 36.3, which is on par with controlled medical weight loss trials. The obese children in the study saw their waist sizes drop several inches, though their B.M.I.'s did not change very much because they were growing and getting taller.
"The kids were on a steeper trajectory for higher B.M.I. before the parent's surgery," Dr. Morton said. "At the end of one year, that slope was less."
The researchers also saw other beneficial changes in the young and adult family members. They watched less television, exercised more and reported fewer instances of uncontrollable and emotional eating. The adults drank significantly less alcohol, going from an average of 11 drinks a month down to just one. Dr. Morton said it was clear bariatric surgery could be an opportunity for intervention for many people beyond the patient.
"Obesity is a family disease," he said, "and we do need to treat everyone involved and start thinking about bariatric surgery as a platform for change."

Does Hair Removal Cream Make Your Hair Grow Back Even Thicker?
For those who have use those hair removal cream, does it make your hair grow back even thicker? Well I know that shaving makes your hair grow back thicker, and faster. But what about hair removal cream? does it grow back just the same as it was before? or does it grow back thicker? or thinner?
After years of nightmare hair removal options, I finally decided to look into permanent hair removal options. My research led me to a consultation at Manhattan's salon.I found a website http://www.hairlaserremoval.co.ukThere are many useful information to me. Thanks to them.At my consultation I wasn't expecting to go under the laser. In fact, I wasn't sure what to expect. My technician, Michelle, was laid-back, confident and attentive. When I asked what the results would look like, she lifted her arm and showed me the most perfect hairless armpit I'd ever seen. Knowing I was writing an article, she even showed me her bikini line. I was blown away with the possibility of never having to shave again.Step 1: Paper pantiesTechnician leaves you with paper panties. I was given the paper panties then Michelle left. She came back in and I laid on the table in basically a splayed position (a bit uncomfortable, but then Michelle was so laid back and had showed me HER bikini line so what did I care?). Step 2: Ice coldIce cold jelly-like goo is squeezed onto all the soon-to-be-lasered spots. The goo apparently protects skin and offers some sort of barrier from the heated light. Step 3: The laser wand comes outI had no idea what this looked like until I saw it. Lasers vary, but the one Michelle used on me reminded me of the part of your printer that you attach to your computer. The part that is closest to your skin is about 4 inches long and an inch wide (although they vary). Michelle gave me a pair of sunglasses. Step 4: The procedure beginsBasically Michelle worked along my bikini line. I had asked about the pain and she said it would feel like a rubber band snapping the skin. She was right. The pain wasn't unbearable at all, nothing like the searing pain of waxing. The laser pulses with light and you feel a 'snap.' She moves along with each 'zap.' Step 5: Clean upOnce the lasering was over, Michelle scooped up the goo, I got dressed and that was it. No need for creams or lotions or potions. Michelle told me the hair would fall out within 2 weeks. On my way out the door the woman at the reception desk told me I was going to love the results. I left happy and confident she was right. Then the waiting began. Two weeks later, the hair was gone and a new hair cycle had just barely begun to grow in. Hair grows in cycles so you should get about 6 treatments to ensure you kill all the hair follicles. A month after my first treatment I went in for my second. Find out what happened in my 3rd installment of Diary of a Laser Hair Removal Guinea Pig.
In my experience it grows back just a little bit thicker, but nothing that is really all that noticable.
It looks like it. i know for sure it makes it more course....i got some in the inside of my vagina lips and hair grew in places that did not have n e!!!

Apple, Movie Studios Discuss Streaming
Oct. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Apple Inc. is in talks with Hollywood studios about a plan to let consumers buy movies and stream them to the company’s devices, two people familiar with the discussions said.
Apple is seeking agreements to access digital copies of films through its iCloud online storage system, said the people, who declined to be identified because the talks are private.
Studios see online movie "lockers," with the ability to make content available anytime on a variety of devices, as a way to counter declining sales of DVDs. Such systems may encourage consumers to buy DVDs and Blu-ray disks rather than rent movies through low-cost services such as Coinstar Inc.’s Redbox or stream them through Netflix Inc.
Apple’s iTunes service currently allows customers to rent movies. The new service would enable them to purchase titles and access them anytime from different devices, such as Apple’s iPhone or iPad.
Trudy Muller, a spokeswoman for Cupertino, California-based Apple, declined to comment.
Time Warner Inc.’s Warner Bros. made the comedy "Horrible Bosses" available Oct. 11 through UltraViolet, a similar Web- based system that stores digital copies of purchased films. Sony Corp. and Comcast Corp.’s Universal Pictures have also announced plans to make films available through UltraViolet, a system backed by the Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem LLC, an alliance of studios and technology companies, including Warner, Comcast and Intel Corp.
Complementary Systems
Studios see the iCloud and UltraViolet as potentially complementary systems that may invigorate sales, according to one of the people.
The studios’ discussions with Apple were reported yesterday by the Los Angeles Times.
Other titles scheduled for UltraViolet release include Warner’s "Green Lantern" and Sony’s "The Smurfs." Instructions on how to access the movies digitally are included in DVD packaging.
The number of Web-enabled devices that will be able to access content stored in such systems will grow to 780 million units by 2014 from more than 350 million this year, according to Parks Associates, a Dallas-based researcher.

CRTC Tightens Telco Rules
TORONTO " Striking an unexpectedly interventionist tone, the federal broadcast regulator Wednesday slapped a host of new conditions on the country's biggest telecommunications conglomerates.
In a bid to curb "anti-competitive" behaviour between BCE Inc., Rogers Communications Inc., Shaw Communications Inc. and Quebecor Media Inc. " firms with considerable market power through their collective control of most of the country's TV, Internet and wireless networks as well as the television content flowing over them " the regulator has enacted a new "code of conduct" and other provisions designed to guard the market place from disruptions, such as programming black outs.
"We felt that some safeguards were needed," said Konrad von Finckenstein, the Canadian Television-radio and Telecommunications Commission's chairman.
Perhaps the most important is a permanent ban on exclusive content deals between the TV arms of an integrated carrier and its mobile and Internet distribution arms, such as between the new Bell Media and Bell Mobility.
CRTC's strict program to keep integrated telcos in line:
Prohibit companies from offering television shows on an exclusive basis to their mobile or Internet subscribers.
Companies can offer exclusive programming to their customers if it is produced specifically for an Internet portal or a mobile device.
At least 25% of specialty services distributed by a large integrated company must be owned by an independent broadcaster.
Adopt a code of conduct to prevent anti-competitive behaviour.
"That is for our business the most critical part of the decision," Michael Hennessy, senior vice-president of regulatory affairs for Telus Corp. The Vancouver-based company is the third-largest wireless operator in the country and a primary TV and Internet provider in Western Canada, where it competes with Shaw.
Telus as well as other independent television distributors such as Cogeco Cable in Ontario share concerns content would be denied to them on both television and emerging platforms, such as online or on smartphones and tablets.
At minimum, they warn costs to their customers would soar as vertically integrated competitors seek price increases. While costs may still climb for those carriers unaligned with content and who must still negotiate for carriage, TV signals cannot now be pulled, a fear substantiated by recent black-outs in the United States.
Wednesday's decision removes the incentive to cut programming if negotiations break down " a scenario that could potentially be exploited to drive consumers to switch carriers " by mandating access during talks as well as demanding unresolved talks be subject to "binding" arbitration.
The "standstill" access rule extends to on-demand, mobile and Web-based viewing options, meaning recently introduced video packages such as Bell's Mobile TV and Shaw's online Movie Club must also be made available to competitors.
The decision was trumpeted by market observers and consumer advocates as a victory for the viewer, who now avoids being forced to select a service depending on what shows are available on it.
"This approach will ensure that customers will not have to subscribe to several distributors in order to view the most popular programming," the CRTC said.
The CRTC's move is a significant blow for integrated carriers such as BCE and Shaw, who have built business models around using their broadcast content in "innovative" and largely exclusive ways on tablets and other viewing platforms.
"The outright ban on exclusives in our view … prevents parties from trying to innovate, test things out and try to differentiate," Mirko Bibic, senior vice-president of regulatory affairs said.
The executive railed against the standstill and arbitration stipulations, suggesting the regulator is not pursuing its own mandate of allowing the market to operate under minimum intervention.
"It's heavy regulation " when you get down to regulating price that's the heaviest form you can have," Mr. Bibic said.
The decision from CRTC comes after months of deliberations following BCE's successful acquisition in April of the CTV network, a deal pairing the largest broadcaster in the country with the biggest provider of TV, Internet and wireless services.
The commission also said Wednesday television providers must begin moving toward offering more "a la carte" channel packages, another pro-consumer move.
"What jumps out here is how activist the CRTC is in setting up new rules of the game," Stephen Zolf, a media lawyer at Heenan Blaikie said. "The death of regulation has been greatly exaggerated."

Weight Loss Bypass Surgery May Muffle Temptation
NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - People who've had gastric bypass surgery might make healthier eating choices than those who opt for the weight loss procedure known as gastric banding, say UK researchers who found bypass patients less tempted by sweets and other fattening foods.
After surveying patients who had either type of surgery, and performing brain scans on several dozen of them, Dr. Tony Goldstone of Imperial College London and Hammersmith Hospital and his colleagues found that even deep down in their brains, the gastric bypass patients seemed to like high-calorie foods less.
"The results suggest that gastric-banding patients had to exert quite a lot of self-control over their eating behavior. Banding patients also had higher concern about their weight," Goldstone told Reuters Health.
In contrast, gastric bypass patients "don't feel they have to exert as much cognitive control over what they're eating," said Goldstone, who presented the findings October 4th at the Obesity Society's annual meeting in Orlando, Florida.
The two weight loss operations have similar broad goals -- to shrink the stomach so people feel full with less food. In gastric bypass, the stomach is surgically reduced and one end of it is rerouted to bypass part of the small intestine. With gastric banding, a silicone band placed around the top of the stomach reduces its capacity.
Although gastric banding is more popular, in part because the band can be removed, previous research has found gastric bypass patients seem to lose more weight and lose it faster than banding patients. The reasons for the differences are still unclear.
Goldstone's team studied 30 gastric bypass patients, 28 gastric banding patients and 20 people who did not have weight loss surgery. All the participants started out obese and the two surgery groups had lost similar amounts of body weight since their respective procedures, an average of 28 percent.
Since banding patients lose weight more slowly, those in this study had undergone their procedure an average of 18 months earlier, compared to the bypass patients at 10 months post-surgery.
Participants filled out an eating behavior questionnaire, and 20 people in each group underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) while looking at pictures of food.
Among the significant differences in questionnaire responses, researchers found, the gastric bypass patients reported having to restrain themselves less, or finding it easier to restrain themselves from eating poorly. They also did less impulsive eating -- eating something on sight, not out of hunger -- and less eating to boost their mood, or "emotional eating."
Those who underwent fMRI had fasted overnight, and then viewed pictures of foods and ate ice cream during the brain scan. The gastric bypass patients rated the ice cream and pictures of high-calorie foods as less appealing than did the gastric banding patients.
Bypass patients also showed lower activity in brain areas like the orbitofrontal cortex (associated with a reward response), the amygdala (associated with emotion) and in the ventral striatum (which would register the expectation of a reward like food).
Goldstone theorizes that gut hormones that trigger a feeling of fullness after eating are released more quickly in gastric bypass patients, and these chemical signals may be influencing those patients' long- and short-term responses to food in a way the gastric banding patients don't experience.
"The connections between the biology of obesity and the mechanisms of the surgery we use is really a new science established in the last three to five years," said Dr. Robin Blackstone, president of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, who was not involved in the study. "Now that we understand more about how these procedures are working, it makes sense that the bypass patients would have more control. The band would not produce those same effects."
"Bypass results in more weight loss than the band and it is a more sustainable weight loss," Blackstone added. "Now we begin to understand why that is, because it has these kinds of effects."
It's not possible yet to say that one type of surgery or another is better for a certain type of patient, noted Blackstone, who is also the medical director at Scottsdale Healthcare Bariatric Center in Arizona.
"A lot of people are working to figure out which procedure is best for which patients," she said.
"People that are motivated to use the band generally don't have much weight to lose, or they're attracted by the safety profile -- the lower mortality rates -- and that it's reversible," Blackstone said.
"The more we begin to understand about patients individually, including the genetic components of their obesity, we'll be able to match a procedure really well for them. We just don't know how to select people out for each procedure," she said.
Goldstone said his next step will be determining whether the reduced response to fattening foods seen in gastric bypass patients actually translates into their making healthier, low-calorie food choices.

That Was Qwikster: Nexflix Scuttles Plan To Spin Off DVD Rentals To Qwikster Site
It's hard to find a company that seems in as muchlf-inflicted chaos as Netflix - one of my own personal favorite companies. In recent months it seemingly has not just shot itself in the foot but bit itself in the lower proximities. Is that an exaggeration? No. Just look at this story about a massive corporate about face:
Netflix Inc. is abandoning its widely panned decision to separate its DVD-by-mail and Internet streaming services because it would make them more difficult to use.
Subscribers will be able to use both services under one account and one password, CEO Reed Hastings said Monday in a blog post.
Investors saw the reversal as an Oscar-worthy move, sending the stock up $11.24, or 9.6 percent, to $128.45 in premarket trading.
Less than a month ago, the Netflix said it would split the DVD rental business off on a new website, to be called Qwikster.
Subscribers howled at the move, saying they saw Netflix as a destination for movies in general and didn't want to manage two accounts.
"It is clear that for many of our members two websites would make things more difficult, so we are going to keep Netflix as one place to go for streaming and DVDs," Hastings said in the blog post.
In July, the company said that customers who want streaming movies and DVDs will have to pay for them separately. The "Qwikster" announcement was a follow-up to that change. Analysts saw it as a way for Netflix to distance itself from the older DVD business, which has less future potential than Internet streaming.
Netflix has a more profound problem, if my own little, modest personal experience is any reliable indicator. The videos it offers via streaming are far more limited than its DVDs, and many of them are outdated or less attractive selections. Here's why I say this:
I LOVE Netflix. I live in San Diego and would order the DVDs and not watch streaming that much. I'd watch an entire TV series (The Wire, Homicide Life on the Street, The Beast, comedies, foreign films) mostly at night with a little portable DVD player resting on my stomach when I was in bed. I'm now on a national trip that will keep me on the road and almost constantly on the move all but 7 weeks between now and the end of May. So I couldn't use the DVD service anymore, as much as I like it.
I called and told them that as of Sept I would drop the DVD service and do only streaming under their new pricing but it would have nothing to do with the pricing. Since moving to streaming I have been sorely disappointed. YES I can watch through the first three seasons of Breaking Bad. But most of the DVDs I used to like are not available in streaming. If I find that I can't get the selections I want too often I'll cancel that, buy DVDs and sell them on Amazon Marketplace after while on this trip. I mentioned this to a customer service rep when I called and he read what seemed to be a prepared statement about how to stay tuned, Netflix will be expanding its streaming. I take them at their word but for now I find the streaming service far inferior to the selection I had when I did the DVDs. Almost to the point where I will cancel.
Netflix has faced a virtual melt down since changing its pricing. It lost customers and its stock has seen as many ups and downs (early on some downs) than a rollercoaster. If it loses loyal customers like me because its streaming selections often border on lousy Red Box is looking better and better) they will have stripped themselves of a good chunk of their customer base.
Also:
– Brian Stelter:
Abandoning a break-up plan it announced last month, Netflix said Monday morning that it had decided to keep its DVD-by-mail and online streaming services together under one name and one Web site.
The company admitted that it had moved too fast when it tried to spin-off the old-fashioned DVD service into a new company called Qwikster.
"We underestimated the appeal of the single web site and a single service," Steve Swasey, a Netflix spokesman, said in a telephone interview. He quickly added: "We greatly underestimated it."
Mr. Swasey said that the Netflix chief executive Reed Hastings declined an interview request. But in a statement, Mr. Hastings said, "Consumers value the simplicity Netflix has always offered and we respect that. There is a difference between moving quickly " which Netflix has done very well for years " and moving too fast, which is what we did in this case."
Mr. Swasey declined to comment on any involvement by the Netflix board in the decision to keep the two services together. Initial reaction to the Netflix announcement was largely positive, and the company's stock jumped 10 percent in pre-market trading.
Netflix said it never actually separated the services or started Qwikster. But the Sept. 18 announcement that it intended to do so stoked anger among Netflix customers, some of whom were already incensed by a price hike to $16 from $10 for those who receive both DVDs and streaming. (That increase will remain in place.)
In a blog post that day about the plan, Mr. Hastings wrote, "Companies rarely die from moving too fast, and they frequently die from moving too slowly." His implication was that Netflix had to act aggressively to expand its fast-growing streaming service by severing its older, slower DVD-by-mail arm.
– New York Magazine:
"I messed up" is Netflix CEO Reed Hastings's new mantra. He announced three weeks ago that he'd made a mistake in raising prices and his harebrained solution was to split the company in two: Netflix for streaming video online and something called Qwikster for receiving DVDs through the mail. At the time, everyone said "Huh?" and attempted to justify the inconvenience for customers with business-side speculation. But this morning, they're walking the whole thing back: "We underestimated the appeal of the single web site and a single service," says a Netflix spokesperson, who will never have to tell anyone he works for a company called Qwikster. "We greatly underestimated it." Netflix, with one name and website, will continue to be the place for both DVDs and streaming; Qwikster is dead before it ever existed.
– Gawker:
A Netflix spokesman told the New York Times that the company "underestimated the appeal of the single web site and a single service." As a result of the announcement, the company's stocks got a bump.
The Qwikster brand name couldn't be reached for comment, but we hear it's currently parked on its couch with a gallon of butter pecan ice cream and watching old VHS tapes in protest. Poor thing never even got a chance. Unlike the percent price increases, which will remain in effect.
- -Beta Beat:
From the beginning it was obvious that Qwikster was a ill considered stopgap measure. Netflix tried to pivot away from its original DVD by mail business and focus on streaming video only. But they did so by raising prices, which infuriated subscribers and hurt their quarterly numbers.
– Paid Content:
It took Coca-Cola 77 days of New Coke to bring back Coke Classic. It took Netflix co-founder and CEO Reed Hastings less than three weeks to shelf the idea of splitting Netflix (NSDQ: NFLX) into two brands"Qwikster to sell DVDs, Netflix for streaming; 23 days in all to admit publicly that the right strategy can turn out very wrong and to cancel the move before it kicked in.
Instead, while the businesses will split operationally, everything will stay under the Netflix brand and subscribers who get both services will keep one account. The company is sticking to one major change: the 60 percent price increase for those subscribers that was announced in July and took effect Sept. 1….
….Streaming is the company's future; subscription DVD is a shrinking part of its present. Over the past year Netflix has moved further away from DVDs as confirmed by its streaming-only international expansion to Canada and Latin America, while its emphasis on streaming in the U.S. has come at the expense of DVD marketing. Hastings contends a split would give the DVD business the a chance to make the most of the its remaining lifespan, while allowing streaming to grow more quickly.
– Forbes:
In a rare demonstration of a company listening to its customers, Netflix this morning killed off its plan to divide its DVD rental and streaming video businesses into two Webs sites. Qwikster.com, which was to be the new name of the DVD rental business, will never see the light of day.
–Moviefone:
If Netflix CEO Reed Hastings was running for office, this would be the time to call him a flip-flopper. After last month's announcement that Netflix would split into two companies - Netflix for online streaming and Qwikster for DVD-by-mail service - Hastings said on Monday morning that those plans have been scraped. "It is clear that for many of our members two websites would make things more difficult, so we are going to keep Netflix as one place to go for streaming and DVDs," said Hastings in a statement on the Netflix blog. "This means no change: one website, one account, one password… in other words, no Qwikster." Certainly @qwikster must be heartbroken.

How Does One Become A Licensed Laser Hair Removal Specialist?
I am in Washington state - not sure if that makes a difference. I can find all kinds of beauty schools offering training for the removal of hair via waxing, however, I cannot find anything offering training for laser hair removal.
Go to the attached site. Some of the providers listed offer training schools. Just call the number, 888.517.4187, ask for Doug and ask him to get you a list of which providers offer certification.Good luck.

Mashantuckets Back Diabetes Research
In fact, given its resources, the tribe that owns Foxwoods Resort Casino considered it "almost an obligation to help find a solution," according to Rodney Butler and Richard E. Sebastian, chairman and vice chairman, respectively, of the Mashantuckets' tribal council. In 2006, they founded Drive for Diabetes, an annual charity golf event that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for diabetes research and prevention.
A couple of years after the inaugural event, Sebastian himself was diagnosed with signs of the disease.
"I learned I was a borderline diabetic," Sebastian said Monday during a ceremony marking the tribe's distribution of proceeds from last month's sixth Drive for Diabetes, which was held at Lake of Isles. The tribe presented a $20,000 check to the American Diabetes Association and a $20,000 check to the Joslin Diabetes Center and its local affiliate, Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London.
"I ignored it," Sebastian said of his initial diagnosis. "I pushed it to the side and went about living."
Eventually, though, he noticed changes in his vision. Frequent nighttime trips to the bathroom disrupted his sleep, which in turn made it hard for him to withstand the rigors of the day. Blood tests that revealed high blood-sugar levels confirmed he had the disease.
"Over the last two-and-a-half years, I've lost 20 pounds," he said, looking fit. "I'm staying on top of it."
According to Chris Boynton, executive director of the American Diabetes Association's New England chapter, many diagnosed with diabetes react the way Sebastian did at first.
"It's all too common that people wait to act on a diagnosis," Boynton, who represented the ADA at Monday's ceremony, said, noting that 79 million Americans have "pre-diabetes," a condition marked by blood-sugar levels that are higher than normal but not yet high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes.
"At that point," Boynton said, "you can change your diet, lose weight, exercise and fall out of that category. But once you're diagnosed with diabetes, you have it.
"Our goal is similar to that of the tribal nation's," he said. "We want to promote a sense of urgency."
Also on hand at the ceremony was William Stanley, vice president of development and community relations for LM, which was a recipient of the tribe's largesse for the second year in a row.
"We're delighted to have established this relationship with the Mashantucket Pequots to help raise awareness about diabetes not only on the reservation but throughout the community," he said. "We want to provide a higher level of care for those afflicted with the disease and a higher level of precaution among those who potentially could be headed in that direction."

How Short Does Your Hair Need To Be For Laser Hair Removal To Be Effective?
I want to get laser hair removal done on my sideburns. They're longer than I like. The top half is made up of thick hairs, but the bottom half is made up of short, thin hairs. Before I get the laser done, do I have to shave off the short, thin hairs? I'm afraid that they will grow back thick and noticable.
When i went to get laser hair removal on my underarms, they told me that i had to have shaven the area within twenty four hours of the procedure. where ever you're getting it done you should ask if they think the laser hair removal will work on the short thin hairs you have under your sideburns because i heard it doesn't work on hair that's almost like peach fuzz.
The technician doing the procedure should trim the hair if it's needed.
You have to shave. Here is a great article that gives a first hand account of and completely describes the laser hair removal process. I think this will help to answer your question. ENJOY!
I think your best bet is to contact a doctor or clinic that does laser hair removal and ask them.

Any Good Permanent Body Hair Removal Products That Are Reasonably Priced?
I'm not exactly a sasquatch, but I do have some hair on my back, and some hair on my shoulders are peeping out. Any good permanent body hair removal products that are reasonably priced? I'm not about to go for a laser hair removal to an office paying thousands of dollars. Just something under $100 that lasts months or so.I use ManGroomer, a back shaver, but the hair grows back in a week or so. I'm looking for some permanent hair removal products. Thanks.
There ain't products out there that will remove your hair permanentOnly laser treatment can do thatColors
Me too stud...I'm the sasquatch guy though, and shave in a lot of areas...yes there too
Nothing really permanent but you can use hair removal cream for your body that last up to 3 weeks.
Another option is a good epilator that also last long.
Definitely not under $100, but certainly cheaper than a doctor visit for laser. Try the TRIA Laser Hair Removal System, I've read good reviews and looking into trying it myself. It is about the price of one laser treatment for the back, but when you take into account most people need 10-12 treatments at $500 each time, I think it would be money well spent.
Hair removal by shaving is low- priced and painfree, but the sensitive parts of the skin .Hairlessperfect is the only product of its kind that is approved by an independent ..Here is my site where i have a 60 days trial offer that can help you to solve this problem.www.easyhairremoval.org

What Kinds Of Hair Removal Products For Legs Work Best?
I want a cheap, efficient hair removal cream for my legs...Veet? Nair? Does anyone know which one works best?
Nair and Veet are okay, but I've gotten nasty chemical burns with both. You really can never go wrong with a moisturizing gel and a disposable razor. But if you really want a cream, Nair works the best if you use it properly.
I've had good results with Nair.
I personally haven't used it, but after reading tons of reviews i know that Nair is better and if you want to be on the safe side, use the one for sensitive skin and do NOT leave it on for even a minute longer than is instructed.
Theres a thing called a razor and shaving cream, that personally works best for alot of people

Ashton Kutcher: Demi Moore's Weight Plummets As Cheating Rumours Take A Toll
By Marcus Barnes
Last
The stresses of revelations about her husband's alleged infidelities appear to be taking their toll on Demi Moore.
According to a recent report the actress' weight has plummeted in recent weeks, apparently dropping to just 7 stone.
The weight loss has been evident in recent pictures of the 48-year-old who appears to be far slimmer than she was a year ago.
Demi stands at 5'5", so if reports are correct and she's just 7 stone, she's well under weight for her height.
A story in Grazia magazine makes the claims, using quotes from a witness who allegedly saw Demi at a cancer fundraiser event in New York.
The source alleged: 'She looked so scarily skinny. Her hip bones were jutting out so much, you could see the outline under her dress. She made Jennifer Aniston look big.'
The magazine then quotes an apparent friend, who claims: 'She's hovering around the 7st mark at the moment.'
Demi's marriage to funnyman Ashton has hit the rocks after allegations concerning his alleged cheating.
A witness present at the actor's lavish San Diego hotel suite on the night he is alleged to have cheated on Demi claims Kutcher yelled for vodka as he languished naked in a hot tub with four similarly bare young women.
The 33-year-old actor should've been preparing to celebrate his sixth wedding anniversary with Moore, 48.
But instead its claimed he enjoyed the company of 23-year-old Texan Sara Leal, with whom he is alleged to have had sex that night in his suite.
Jacques Du Toit, a South African yacht worker, described the sordid scene at the 2,500-a-night ‘top of the rock' Diamond Suite at the Hard Rock Hotel, to a friend.
Du Toit told close friend Gavin Naumoff, 23 , how he hot-footed to the 1,200 sq ft suite, which features an outdoor jacuzzi, after his girlfriend told him she was attending a party in Kutcher's suite on September 23rd.
'He was concerned,' explained party promoter Naumoff to the Mail on Sunday.
'Jacques is the boyfriend of one of the girls partying with Sara that night, Alexis. He wanted to make sure she was behaving herself.'
But The Mail revealed that it was the pretty blonde from small town McAllen in Texas, who stayed behind that night, before going on to uncover the humble origins that propelled her into the seedy set-up with the married millionaire.
Naumoff recalled the scene that night as Du Toit painted it: 'Alexis told him Ashton's room number and when he got there, a bodyguard was at the door who said it was a private party. Jacques explained he was the boyfriend of one of the girls and was let in.
‘He found Ashton in a hot tub on the balcony with Alexis, Sara, a girl called Katie and another girl called Marta. They were all naked. Ashton invited Jacques to join them in the tub.
Apparently, Ashton said, 'Yo, where's the vodka at?' and Jacques was like, ‘'It's over there but I'm not going to get it.' So Ashton gets out to get the vodka and that's when Jacques saw he was butt naked.'
The alleged sexual encounter took place that night after everyone except Sara and her friend Marta had left.
‘Sara is telling everyone 100 per cent that she and Ashton had sex,' claimed Naumoff.
‘Jacques and Alexis are two of my best friends and Sara is a good friend. If she says she slept with him then I think she's telling the truth.'
Naumoff, who arranges for good looking girls to be shipped to certain hotspots, also told the newspaper: 'Sara's a great girl. My job is to round up hot girls and bus them into clubs in San Diego or Vegas.
The girls get free booze, food, whatever, and they attract rich and famous guys to the clubs. It's a two-way street. The girls get to meet rich men and the guys get what they want.'
'Which is? ‘Sex, obviously.'
Leal is yet to speak out publicly about the alleged incident but she has already retained a high powered attorney. He has so far declined to respond to any media calls about his client.
She is reportedly letting it be known that she won't 'spill the beans' on Kutcher for less than $250,000, but is hoping she will receive a similar offer from Kutcher to fade away.

Anyone Know How To Return Movies To Disney Movie Club?
I am a member of the Disney Movie Club. I didn't get my "decline" in by the deadline so they sent me the title of the month or whatever you want to call it. I've never had to return anything to them so can anyone tell me how I need to go about that? I'm sure I'll have to pay the return shipping cost but will they credit that to my account since I am not keeping that movie? Thanks for your help!
On the invoice enclosed with the movie it has instructions on how (where) to return it. They will not credit you for the shipping costs you incur sending the movie back to them.

Laser Hair Removal Courses - The Right Training Is Essential
It is very important that the process of laser hair removal should only be performed by those who have had the right training. There are many excellent laser hair removal courses that a physician or technician needs to complete in order to be able to offer the very best services to those who ask for treatment. These classes focus on many areas including theory and practical application processes for laser hair removal.
The basic laser hair removal courses that a professional needs to complete include:
- Introduction to lasers
- Basic laser physics and laser tissue interaction
- Basic hair biology and growth cycles
- Types of medical hair removal lasers
- Laser parameters and their effect upon results
- Patient Skin typing
- Contraindications to treatment
- Safety issues and patient care
- Marketing, advertising and ethics of laser hair removal business
The majority of laser hair removal courses don't take very long to complete. An individual only needs to complete a total of 40 hours of intense training and they are eligible to be a Certified Laser Specialist. The training programs are very expensive though - ranging from $2,000 to $4,000 for the span of the necessary courses.
It is important to make sure the program you enroll in is accredited or you may just be throwing your time and money away. You can find out the reputation of a program by checking with the Department of Higher Education, Health Occupations, and the Better Business Bureau.
Some of the laser hair removal programs that have excellent reviews include Rocky Mountain Laser College, LightSpeed Training Institute, the Laser Centers of Connecticut, and Elite Laser Training. Right now Rocky Mountain Laser College is the top ranking laser hair removal program according to the Department of Higher Education. It is important to fully understand how laser hair removal works if you plan to perform it on others.
